Children come to school full of knowledge of many things they do at home with their family, and other people they trust. Teachers need to plan classroom instruction in ways that are relevant to students’ experiences. In order to incorporate meaningful connections between households and classrooms equally, building relationships of trust and becoming involved with students and their families is vital for student learning, thus this type of relationships give teachers information and knowledge about the student. Knowledge that can be essential in the classroom when teaching students since through this knowledge, teachers are able to learn about the lives and experiences of students which can be used as connections to text and writing, to help assess, and improve children academically. Parents becoming involved in school possess as an advantage and can actually become a useful resource to help improve academic achievement of students (Moll et al, 1992).

As research shows, having parents involved in their child’s education such as by participating in school events, communicating with teachers, and inviting them to school activities or participation, demonstrate great academic improvement for the students. In addition, this also helps the parents become aware of what their children are learning at school and what they need to focus on. Above all, through these, parents become involved in the education of their children as well as encouraging them and pushing their children to success. Parent involvement is fundamental in the academic development of our students (Parkes & Ruth, 2011).
